Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 November 2026

Draft. This document is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by a Ghanaian lawyer. Items shown like [this] are still to be filled in.

These terms are the agreement between you and Alumspire Ltd when you use the Slayd app and website.

1. About these terms

Slayd is a product of Alumspire Ltd, Ghana (“Slayd”, “we”). By creating an account or using Slayd you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use Slayd.

Slayd is a marketplace. We help clients find and book shops. The service itself (the haircut, braiding, products) is provided by the shop, not by Slayd. The contract for a service or product is between the client and the shop.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] and able to make a binding agreement.
  • Give true information and keep it up to date. Keep your password and codes private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Roles: most people start as clients. A client who lists a shop becomes a shop owner. Owners can add staff.
  • One person, one account. Do not pretend to be someone else.

3. Bookings

  • A client chooses a style, a day and a time, and sends a booking request. The shop confirms or declines it. A booking is not certain until the shop confirms it.
  • The price and the time a style takes are shown before you book. Home service may add the shop’s home service fee, which is shown before you confirm.
  • Shops must keep their styles, prices, times and opening hours accurate, and turn up to confirmed bookings.

4. Deposits, cancelling and refunds

This section describes how the app works today.

  • A shop may choose to ask for a deposit, which is a percentage of the price. If it does, the client pays it through Paystack when booking.
  • Cancelling: a client can cancel from the Bookings tab at any time while the booking is waiting for the shop or confirmed. There is no cut-off time.
  • Refund of a deposit: if you cancel, the deposit is refunded in full to the way you paid. If you reschedule, the deposit is also refunded in full, and a new deposit is not charged for the new time. If the refund cannot be completed, the booking stays as it was and you can try again.
  • No-shows: if the shop marks a booking as a no-show, the deposit is kept and paid to the shop.
  • If the booking is completed, the deposit counts towards the price, and the client pays the rest in the app after the service.
  • Refunds may take time to appear, depending on Paystack and your bank or mobile money provider. [LAWYER TO CONFIRM WORDING, AND ANY TIME LIMITS, ON NO-SHOW AND DISPUTES]
  • If a shop cancels or declines, the client owes nothing for that booking.
  • Where there is no deposit, the client pays in the app after the service is complete.

5. Payments

  • Payments are handled by our payment partner, Paystack, by mobile money (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money) or card. Paystack’s terms also apply. We never see your PIN or full card details.
  • Amounts are in Ghana cedis (GH¢).
  • We may hold a shop’s earnings for review before paying them out, and pay out to the mobile money or bank account the shop has registered. We may delay or refuse a payout where we suspect fraud, a dispute or a breach of these terms.
  • Collect payment: a shop may ask a customer to pay by mobile money. A shop must only enter a number for a customer who has asked to pay, and must not send unwanted payment requests.
  • Launch pricing: Slayd is currently free to use during launch, with no booking commission. We may introduce or change fees later, and will tell you first. Some optional premium subscriptions may be offered, billed monthly by card through Paystack; their price and benefits are shown before you subscribe, and you can cancel in the app. [CONFIRM SUBSCRIPTION STATUS AND PRICES AT LAUNCH]

6. Shop owner responsibilities

  • You must be allowed to run the business you list, and have the skills, licences and permissions the law requires.
  • Provide the services as described, safely and hygienically, and treat clients with respect.
  • Only upload photos and videos you own or have permission to use, including permission from any person shown. Do not claim a style or work is yours if it is not.
  • Verification: send true information. We may refuse, remove or suspend verification at any time. A shop that is not verified, or is suspended, may be hidden from clients.
  • Honour deposits and refunds as described in section 4. Do not ask clients to pay outside Slayd to avoid these terms.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes and for the money you receive.
  • Keep clients’ personal data (including phone numbers and any notes) private and use it only for the booking or order.

7. Content and conduct

  • You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a licence to store, show, resize and share it in and around Slayd (including on share pages and link previews) so we can run the service. [LAWYER TO CONFIRM LICENCE WORDING]
  • You must follow our Community Guidelines.
  • Reviews must be honest and from your own experience. One review is allowed for each completed booking.
  • Do not misuse Slayd: no hacking, scraping, spam, fake accounts or fake bookings, no abuse of the payment features, and no using Slayd to break the law.

8. Reports and removal

Anyone can report a post, comment or user. We review reports. We may remove content, hide a shop, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the Community Guidelines, or that put others at risk. Where reasonable we will tell you why. You can write to support@slayd.app if you think we made a mistake.

9. Suspension and ending

You can stop using Slayd and ask us to delete your account (see Delete your account). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we must by law, or to protect users. Bookings and money already in progress will be handled fairly under these terms.

10. Our responsibility

  • We work to keep Slayd running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free.
  • We do not provide the beauty services and are not responsible for their quality, safety, results, or a shop’s or client’s conduct, beyond what the law says we must be.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, Alumspire Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for a claim is limited to [AMOUNT OR RULE, e.g. the fees you paid Slayd in the last 12 months]. [LAWYER TO CONFIRM]

11. Changes

We may change these terms. We will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using Slayd after a change, you accept it.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. Please contact us first to try to settle a problem. If we cannot, the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction. [LAWYER TO CONFIRM GOVERNING LAW, COURTS AND ANY ARBITRATION OR MEDIATION STEP]
